i made the ikkyu.. now to sho-dan. over the weekend, i was at seuskf tournament/promotion. the promotion went smoothly. it was rather nerve wrecking.. both my sensei were on the judge panel. one of the sensei is from the dojo that i used to practice at about 8 yrs ago. othe other sensei is my current sensei. tho i guess i did enough to pass the ikkyu test. the person who was seating next to me was telling me how he failed twice to pass the ikkyu test which really didn't help me all that much. i was keep thinking about a post in the kendo-world forum about a kid who throw up in his men.. lol
tournament was rather different story. the first match didn't go too well. the person who i was going against was much faster and more energetic. second match wasn't so bad. i think i made few good kote, or at least my sensei told me that i did. at least one judge in the match keep raising his/her flag for my kote, but it was enough for a full point.
over all it was rather nice event. i enjoyed it. the event ran little too long and team competition was cancelled. i would have loved to compete in team competition. that would have been rather interesting. i think i was getting warmed up.. lol
ethan and aidan seem to have enjoyed it also. now ethan actually says he wants to do kendo. i'll have to see x)
